Nothing tans faster or more
effectively than the SunSport 2021. The SunSport's twenty-one 1000 watt tanning
lamps use the gentlest yet most effective portion of the UV light spectrum to
tan. While most tanners take 8-12 tanning sessions to achieve a tan, depending
on the type of equipment used and skin type, using the SunSport a beautiful
golden brown tan can be achieved in just 3-4 sessions.
Maintaining that tan only
requires visits once every 10-20 days. This is the ultimate way to tan. Comfort,
luxury and effectiveness all rolled in to one. You lie on a large comfortable
mattress that we cover with a large, clean towel. You tan naturally - half your
session on the front, half on the back. Simply stated the SunSport 2021 is the
best tanning machine available.
SunSport is absolutely the very best of the best.
The Tanning Process
Tanning is a natural process. Your body tans as a defense
mechanism to reduce the absorption of ultraviolet. That's why a "base tan"
helps prevent sunburn. A base tan slows the absorption of ultraviolet, reducing
the chance of over exposure to the damaging affect of burning rays. The key to
safe, effective tanning is to understand the process and the equipment, then use
both in a manner that reduces your exposure to burning rays. Remember, it's the
burn that causes the damage, not the tan.
What is High Pressure Tanning?
High pressure tanning is an exciting new alternative
to traditional indoor tanning. The high pressure tanning system uses "high
pressure" quartz lamps as opposed to "low pressure" conventional fluorescent
tubular lamps. High pressure tanning provides a faster, deeper, longer lasting
tan than conventional tanning, with a greatly reduced risk of sunburn.
How
Does High Pressure Tanning Work?
Humans normally exfoliate (shed) their skin about
every 28 days. Constant exposure to UVB light in conventional tanning beds
accelerates this cycle to somewhere between 5 and 10 days. Since UVB light tans
only the outer layer of skin, which then exfoliates every 5 to 10 days, your tan
fades if you let more than just a few days go by between tanning sessions. Also,
in response to UVB, your outer layer of skin thickens as a natural barrier to
further UVB exposure.
High pressure beds tan with
virtually 100% UVA rays, allowing your skin to return to its normal 28 day
cycle. High pressure tanning also tans deeper, so even as your outer layer
exfoliates, the layer beneath is still tan.
What puts the Sunsport bed
above the rest?
High pressure lamps increase the
amount of energy that is released so that the tanning process is triggered in
much less time. One 30-minute treatment could be compared to 8-12 sessions in a
conventional low pressure bed, or a whole day in the Caribbean sun.
A series of 3 to 4 sessions at
His & Her Day Spa will
give you a deep, natural tan. To maintain this tan, only one or two sessions per
month is necessary. With high pressure tanning, you can get a darker, faster
tan, and keep it longer!
What are the
advantages of the Sunsport High Pressure bed?
-
Saves time: Fewer sessions
needed.
-
Fewer sessions: Means less overall
exposure to ultraviolet radiation.
-
Saves money: Your tan will
last 3-4 times longer, so you will save time and money by not having to tan
as often.
-
Relaxing: In the Sunsport sunbed, all
of the UV rays come from the top of the unit (the wrap around canopy). You
tan for 11 minutes lying on your back, and then turn over for the remaining
11 minutes. This makes the tanning experience less like artificial tanning
and much more like sunbathing at the beach.
-
Comfortable: When in a Sunsport
sunbed, you will be relaxing on a large contoured mattress as opposed to the
acrylic surface of a traditional low pressure bed. This does away with
pressure marks and lines under the arms.
-
Cool: The Sunsport sunbed has a built
in cooling system. There is a dual-speed body-cooling fan at the base of the
bed which you can adjust to blow cool air over your entire body. There is
very little perspiration and you get no unpleasant tanning smell.
